Cochran – On Sunday, Duell Cecil Phillips, age 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his wife of 61 years, Mary Rogers Phillips, who preceded him in death three weeks ago. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3 PM at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Mr. Phillips, born in Mobile, Alabama, had lived most of his life in Cochran. He was the son of the late Charlie and Dessie Stovall Phillips. He was retired from Robins Air Force Base and he and his wife Mary owned and operated Phillips Barber Shop for 44 years. He was a member of Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors are his sons, David (Vickie) Phillips of Perry and Russell (Cassandra) Phillips of Kathleen; brothers, Ott (Gloria) Phillips and Henry (Jean) Phillips of Warner Robins and Herman Phillips of Baxley; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The family is at 212 Governors Walk, Kathleen and will greet friends form 1:30 until 3 PM Tuesday at Empire Pentecostal Holiness Church.
